About The Hillbilly Studio

The Hillbilly Studio is full-service rehearsal/recording studio designed for musicians that want to be able make awesome music in a laid-back comfortable space. Hillbilly is the attitude but not the gear.

The studio is plug and play, bring your instrument, plug in and start making music. Every station has a mic, a cable for instrument and EIM’s for individual mixes. All that is run to the main board, a Macki ONXY 4880 48 channel board. From that all the good stuff happens. Every channel is EQ’d before going to one of 3 places. The Pyle Amps that powers the main PA, to the individual station headphone mix or to the audio interface when recording. The audio interface is an EVO 16 with 2 Behringer ADA8200’s that expand the EVO to 24 recording channels, which are needed when recording the in-house kit, which is fully mic’d. Once a song is recorded using REAPER, it is mixed and mastered in house and to offer the best possible results, there are 2 KRK Rokit 8” Generation 4 Studio Monitors. Videos are produced using DaVinci Resole in house.

Mission and Values

My mission for my studio is have a comfortable place for artists to make music and express themselves through their music. I understand that most artists and bands don’t have a lot of money for studio time but that shouldn’t stop them for having access to quality space. That’s why my prices are set to enable those who are on a budget to have a space to record and rehearse with quality gear.

When mixing and mastering I want the person listening to the music to feel like they artist or band is right in front of them. There will never be a prefect recorded song. We are human and are not perfect and that imperfection is part of what makes every artist unique.

Character is the best value a person can have. You can be a character and still have character. How you treat people will show your character. There are a few things that I will not tolerate in my studio. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the property. What you do on your time is your business but when you are in my studio it will not be tolerated. Music that degrades people, our country or GOD will not be performed in my studio. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, I myself will stand up for everyone’s right to express that right but in my studio with my Christian values I will not feel comfortable having that type of music in studio.

So, to sum it all up, for me it’s about people making awesome music and having a great time doing it. I also have a full green room in the back if you need to take a break. The studio is located on 50 acres surrounded by forest so you can step outside and most likely you will see wildlife out in the field.
